== Backstory ==
In [[Breath of the Wild]], Calamity Ganon won a hundred years ago. However, Zelda's power sent Terrako the egg-shaped Guardian back in time to change history and create an alternate timeline.

== Gameplay ==
Hyrule Warriors is a Musou game about cutting down hundreds of enemies at once in scenarios accessed from the world map. Each character has a moveset with their weapon class and the Sheikah Slate runes

The playable characters introduced in Chapter 1 are:

* Silent Knight, Link
* Royal Advisor, Loyal Friend, Impa
* Burgeoning Scholar, Princess Zelda

In Chapter 2 they go to each region to recruit the four Champions:

* Gerudo Tempest, Urbosa
* Zora Wellspring, Mipha
* Rito Warrior, Revali
* Goron Stalwart, Daruk

In Chapter 3, the team heads to Korok Forest to acquire the Master Sword:

* Spirited Musician, Hestu

Sidequests in Chapter 4 add:

* Larger-Than-Life Fountain Dwellers, Great Fairies
* Conduit of the Goddess, Monk Maz Koshia

In Chapter 5, when the Champions are about to be struck down by the Blight Ganons, Terrako pulls their descendants from across timelines to rescue them:

* Child of Lightning, Riju
* Winning Smile, Sidon
* Rito Warrior, Teba
* Diamond in the Rough, Yunobo

In Chapter 6, the Yiga Clan pull an Italy and switch sides:

* Top Banana of the Yiga Clan, Master Kohga

In Chapter 7:

* Defier of Prophecy, King Rhoam

Postgame completion rewards:

* Hatred and Malice Incarnate, Calamity Ganon
* Guardian of Time, Terrako
